Site:
There is a 68 acre parcel of Open Space Land in the Georgetown Township area that Ottawa county owns
know as "Fillmore At The Bend". It is located on the North side of Fillmore between 40th Ave. and Bend Drive. There is paved parking available off Fillmore by the Big Red Barn. There is an information board with land use rules and regulations, a map of the property and marked trails.
DOGS ARE ALLOWED TO BE OFF LEASH ON THIS PROPERTY but it is not fenced in.
There is an area approximately 22 acres we feel is acceptable to be fenced in and divided into three areas. A large area for big dogs, a small area for small dogs and a smaller auxiliary area for training, classes, demonstrations or rotation area. There is no master plan by the county for this property. Trails have been mowed on some of the existing two tracks. The trails can also be extended around the proposed fenced in area. The proposed 22 acres is surrounded by a ravine, trees and an open field to act as a sound barrier for local residents. This land was used as a corn field and is very level. Trees can be planted for shade.
BOW HUNTING is allowed on this property during bow hunting season October 1st thru January 1st .
